The emblem strives to be simplistic and timeless. It is inspired by the two most important features of the National Archives of India, namely, the building itself and its function – documentation. The facade of the building is the idea behind the pillar and arch structure. Leaning on the structure is a binder, one of the most easily identifiable symbols for document safe-keeping and organization. The motto is - Preserving The Past, Serving The Future.
