The National Archives of India is the repository of the non-current records of the Government of India and is holding them in trust for the use of administrators and scholars. It is an Attached Office of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

It was set up on 11 March 1891 in Calcutta (Kolkata) as the Imperial Record Department. With the subsequent transfer of the National Capital from Calcutta to New Delhi in 1911, it was shifted to its present building at the crossing of Janpath and Rajpathin 1926.

As the nodal agency for the implementation of the Public Records Act,1993 and Public Record Rules, 1997, the National Archives of India is responsible for streamlining the management of records of central government and public sector undertakings.

In addition to the public records, the National Archives of India also has a large collection of Private Archives of eminent personalities of India.

This contest (https://mygov.in/task/design-emblem-and-create-tagline-national-archives...) was organized on the portal from 13-27 February 2015 but suitable entry could not be finalized. Hence, entries are again invited.

Indian Citizens are invited to design/suggest a suitable Emblem along with a motto to create awareness for the preservation of archival heritage of the Nation for the posterity.

The last date of submission is 15th August 2015.

The selected entry will be awarded a prize of Rs. 50,000/-.

Early days records & historic documents were keeping covered with Red cotton-cloth. Even the system is prevalent today, yet Digital India is opening Red cotton-cloth from the Valuable Paper-Documents to going to convert it to digitalization. That is why, Red cotton-cloth free computer with Keyboard/a Key is taking place instead the Paper-Documents for safe-keeping. The Golden background of the Logo means prosperity of the NAI and the Border like TriColor. Motto: Feel Valuable Past For Future

MOTTO : "WE HOLDS THE LEGACY FOR A LEGENDARY INDIA" Logo Concept: The book symbolizes the archives or the records and while the pages opens it becomes lotus petals,in order to show that these archives are not a mere records but it holds the culture and legacy of Indian administration,why used the lotus is that its not only the national flower but also its sacred to Indian culture.The gem which is at pivot of the book illustrates the value of records or its considered as equal to treasure.

my logo for National Archives of India is emblem of India in middle and crowned dharma chakra which is original ashok Stambha at Kolkata, and have national archives of india text at above has a protecting shield of our history, as well as three lines of tricolor which representing different rulers marks on india and today's indian life revolve around that tricolor of unity . Motto is "where chronicles is originated" because india is mother of all civilization.
