Tiruchirappalli City Municipal Corporation has been ranked first among 12 cities selected for implementing Smart City project in Tamil Nadu and is gaining momentum to get shortlisted in the final round of Smart City Challenge where 20 cities would be selected in the first year.

In this regard last few months, Tiruchirappalli City Corporation has interacted with the citizens through various online & offline modes and members from various organisations such as CREDAI, Exnora, District Trade Union, CII, Industries including Bharat Power Electricals Limited, Bharat Power Electronics, SIDCO, GK Industrial Park, Educational Instituitions such as Anna University, National Institute of Technology, Indian Institute of Architects, Indian Institute of Management, blind schools, institutes of disabled people, women empowerment associations, self-help groups, NGOs, etc were involved in understanding the city's issues and shaping the vision of the city.

Citizen feedback obtained through different modes is analysed and a draft proposal is prepared. It includes the Vision, Area Based and Pan-city solutions proposed for the city.

A snapshot of the proposal is attached as a PDF and we invite comments, suggestions and observations from the citizens to further improve the proposal. This will help us in refining the proposal and making it more competitive.

The last date of submission is 14th December, 2015.
