First create awareness program, most people lack awareness, show the ill effect of pollution, how does it affect our health and also our future generation, awareness in public places, malls, theatres etc, step by step banning the use of plastics, ask temples, public places like parks not to use plastics, reduce plastic level, Chandigarh corporation Can give free gps bi-cycle for local users, like bus pass, max they can travel 10kms,Motivate people to use public transport give incentives to them

Impose strict ban on use of Plastic Carry Bags/Cups/Plates and allied items across the country. In this regard harbinger step of Uttar Pradesh is quite commendable. To solve this issue Promote Bio-Degradable plastic in place of Polymer Plastic.

Keeping in mind that “The earth, water and the air are not a gift to us from our parents but a loan from our children.” CPCC i.e. The Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee alone can't achieve the goal thus resident of U.T, Chandigarh come forward to adopt the Eco-friendly measures in day to day life.

Contrary to weeding out grass from bald, unpaved patches of land and berms of the City,it should be allowed to grow and pruned regularly to reduce dust pollution and soil errosion. Sweeping road only kick up dust and aggravates breathing issues. This can instead be gathered and restorded onto the grassy patches.

Why only chandigarh ? It must be for all states. One of the main help to control pollution is AFFORESTATION. I think SUNDAY must be declared for the ECO FRIENDLY DAY. In all states , there should be a campaign every sunday to take plants and put their in the road sides and some of the ppl must be employed to take care of them. This will also increase employment for poor people. Also cycles should use instead of vehicles on SUNDAY ONLY. Emergency vehicles like ambulance, Police must be allowed.

Dear Sir,
This has reference to the comments on CPCC comments, I represent a company that is involved in Safety, Health, hygiene services, we also represents and train for Hazardous Waste Handling, but to our surprise, when we actually see practice, its surprising that all bodies taking care of handling industrial waste and even the contracting agencies are not following law or keeping human in mind for safe disposal of waste and handling it.
regards,
Piyush.

At least 1 dustbin should be placed roadside at every 500 mtrs along with boards written with encouragements to clean the city..... public transport should be preferred ..... Some fine should be imposed as a punishment for causing pollution. But the people should be most aware not to cause pollution and so they tell the others as it is for the their own betterment. .

Here I am putting my opinion on vehicular #PollutionControl in #Chandigarh.
Every sector in city has four entry/exit points. Parking lots may be established at these points and any movement of vehicles inside sectors may be prohibited (heavy fee may be levied for taking a vehicle inside sector). Rickshaws/ self drive bicycles may be allowed inside sectors and may be available at these parking lots, dis will also boost employment. This together with good public tpt system will reduce vehicles.

Increase the bus service. Put some new technoligies like electric powered buses on the road. Allow only cng autorickshaws on the road. Remove the old buses and promote use of new and low pollution fuels.

preferring public transport more than private and planting trees can be a good step. I have seen people who want to go to same place but they take different vehicle instead of one...and you can also develop plantation as a hobby that could make you cheerful and healthy...
