I'm a rookie about the taxes that have been imposed, but I would like to suggest the following:
As the main contributers of the air pollution in any city is the sheer number of petrol/diesel/CNG vehicles that run in it. There could be provisions made so that the petrol pumps are able to supply charging facilities to the electric powered cars. These cars are non polluting. Reduction in taxes on such electric cars or proving subsidies on the cars would improve their popularity and help the cause.

citizens should participate. car pooling, cycling and cleaning roads of there residence monthly by groups will help. People can fund and contribute CCTV camera to police like I saw in news in Tamil Nadu. Should force government to act.

While sweeping the roads, the leaves and twigs fallen from trees are often collected and burnt by the sweepers. Instead of burning the leaves, we can have a truck pickup the leaves and shrubs and use them in making natural fertilizer.

Earthen utensils can be an ECO-FRIENDLY replacement for plastic utensils, especially tea cups. Jute which are biodegradable can be an better alternative for polythene carry bags. Government should bring in state of the art technologies for the production of earthen and jute things. This will in turn be a great boost to local economy, providing emplyement to unemplyoyed youths and aged people alike. The should make it mandatory for commercial establishments to use solar energy, LEDs,rainwater h.

Remove the divider in the roads.instead plant ashoka trees.they don't grow sideways so no disturbance is caused and u save the money on building dividers.plant a long chain of ashoka trees and leave appropriate gaps for street lights.U can imagine the impact of so many trees in absorbing carbon dioxide. It will make your city oxygen rich and greener and cleaner.no need for dividers.this will also help in preventing soil erosion and increase ground water level and maintain a pleasant environment

5) Use innovative tech to clean waters like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlDJiFW4pRI Or develop something similar domestically to clean waters.
6) Consider using air vacuum to clean roads to avoid dust particles pollution.

1) Create a policy of phasing out old 10 to 15 years old Govt vehicles. Buy new vehicles only with clean technology.
2) Give tax incentive to buy clean tech cars. Start planning charging stations for electric cars in petrol pumps.
3) Phase out diesel rickshaws/tempos/trucks in 2 to 3 years. After 3 years they can be charged higher to encourage switching.
4) Consider giving deadline (2 to 3 years) for industries to switch to clean tech. Give tax incentive for limited time for encouragement.
