Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation has been selected through a competitive process for SMART City Mission initiative of Government of India. In the next phase, Coimbatore city has to compete with 98 other cities from across the country to make it into the Top 20 cities which will be taken up for the first round of funding, for the financial year 2015-16.

Citizens and stakeholders of Coimbatore are requested to post their views and suggestions on how to make Coimbatore a Smart one. The citizens may organize their thoughts on the following topics

1. What should be the Vision of the Coimbatore
2. Strengths, areas of improvement & solutions across the following sectors

a. City Spatial Structure, Transportation and Green Spaces
b. Energy, Water, Waste Water and Environment
c. Housing, Health, Education, Security, Law and Order
d. Citizen Engagement, Smart Solutions and IT-led service delivery

5. New scheme road to connect Avinashi road to trichy road via Airport SIHS colony. 6. Sports complex in each corporation zones - Multipurpose gym, indoor badminton courts, Volleyball, basketball courts, Swimming pools

1. Maintain lakes with proper sewage distillation plants to stop inducting sewage water directed to the lake. 2. Footoverbridge to cross the roads at hopes junction, Lakshmi Mills Jn, PSG Tech Jn, Singanallur Jn, Ramanathapuram Jn, Sungam Jn, KMCH, PSG Arts College, SITRA Jn, SaibabaKovil Jn, Ukkadam Jn 3. Road Over bridge near Lanka corner,Sugam Jn,Hopes GRD school Jn,Lakshmi Mills Jn 4. Widen StateBank Road (Stretch from Lanka corner to Collectorate)

A 29 lakh population city doesn't have a refreshment park for relaxation in weekends. [as lalbagh in Bangalore.] We have only race course for walkers.

Instead of building flyovers all round the city. Better go for scheme roads and service roads. Thadagam road, Mettupalayam road till thudiyalur, and Trichy road needed very badly.

Scheme roads to be laid is around 50 in Coimbatore corporation alone. If these roads are built inside city. Nearly 70 percent of traffic will not be there. Proposals will not get the result. Pls get funds and finish the works.

1. Need ring roads connecting the major roads in the city to get rid of traffic congestion. 2. A functioning waste segregation & management scheme for now and years to come (Need more garbage bins) 3. Coimbatore being an industrial & education hub, need centres of excellence to tap into existing talent (eg. electric vehicle manufacturing,startup incubators,solar power research) 4. More trees should be planted to counter the increasing temperatures & strong emphasis on roof top solar & RWH

Please build a cricket stadium for kovai ,although we r having race track ,football stadium,golf etc but one stadium is missing, that is a international stadium for cricket, as cricket is a leading sport in india ,a cricket stadium would help the development of the city a lot#coimbatore#smartcity#mygov

About the City Cleanliness: • Proper public toilets are to be made and they should be maintained regularly. • Spread awareness to keep our city clean.

About the City Cleanliness: Dustbins should be kept at all public places like Bus stations, Railway stations, Gardens, Theatres etc. • Dustbins should be kept at proper distance on roads. • Proper waste containers should be kept in every area. • Rules should be made and action should be taken if someone breaks the rule. • Daily cleaning of public places is necessary. • They should make public aware of importance of cleanliness and should tell them the after effects of not keeping it clean

1.Intelligent Traffic Signals for ease of traffic flow 2.Sensor based LED street lighting 3.Provision for cables of all kinds under road so that road is not dug again 4.Concrete roads 5.Building norms for new building - min 2 car parks for each apartment plus min. no. of Guest parking within premised for all complexes. 6.Single portal/App which has links to all govt services 7.Rain water harvesting mandatory 8.Mechanized dump collection 9.Dust bins availability
