The objective of the Group is to brainstorm and invite considered views of all stakeholders in Chemicals & Petrochemical sector that include polymers, plastics, synthetic rubber basic Chemicals, pesticide, dyes etc. The sector is touching the lives of each and every member of the society. This sector has tremendous potential of growth vis a vis the contribution of this sector in the world economy, especially in the manufacturing sector in developed countries. The sector also offers employment opportunities for a large population.

As the sector is already liberalized, which has also resulted in a rapid increase in imports, there is a need to review this situation and to promote domestic manufacturing by attracting large investments and providing facilitative policy regime. At the same time, sustainability and environment friendliness of the industries in this sector also has to be ensured as an initiative as part of ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ campaign of the new government.

Comments and views are invited from the stakeholder at large.

Cost of medicine's are just 10% during production but remaining 90% goes to manufacturing company owner, marketing person and to the shop retailers. A sugar patient have to spend minimum of 800 rupees for his tablets per month. But in that the actual cost for medicine is just 150 rupees. Why can't gov. Build their own pharma company through that people can get medicins at very low cost?

Vapi in Gujarat is having pollution which is highest in the world as India is not bothered to implement pollution norms on corruption. This has made all chemicals and Petrochmeicals companies of the world are relocating to India as Bopal disaster has not affected the foreign companies as our political parties allowed those companies to escape compensation to poor people of our country. Hope our PM will give poor people of our country with proper protection on health which is wealth of our nation.

WHY WE ARE NOT USING EXISTING FELICITIES AVAILABLE FOR THE NEW PETROCHEMICAL PLANT THAT IS COMING IN KERALA BPCL-KR IREP PROJECT. THERE ARE MANY FELICITIES AVAILABLE IN FACT-CD WHICH IS NOW A SICK UNIT.IF WE ARE USING THE FACT AREA FOR THE PETROCHEMICAL COMPLEX WE CAN REDUCE THE COST IN ALL SENSE AND WE CAN REDEPLOY THE GREAT MANPOWER IN FACT.
