The objective of the Group is to brainstorm and invite considered views of all stakeholders in Chemicals & Petrochemical sector that include polymers, plastics, synthetic rubber basic Chemicals, pesticide, dyes etc. The sector is touching the lives of each and every member of the society. This sector has tremendous potential of growth vis a vis the contribution of this sector in the world economy, especially in the manufacturing sector in developed countries. The sector also offers employment opportunities for a large population.

As the sector is already liberalized, which has also resulted in a rapid increase in imports, there is a need to review this situation and to promote domestic manufacturing by attracting large investments and providing facilitative policy regime. At the same time, sustainability and environment friendliness of the industries in this sector also has to be ensured as an initiative as part of ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ campaign of the new government.

Comments and views are invited from the stakeholder at large.

We seek your urgent help to have Service Tax Notif 14/2014 dtd 11-7-2014 amended suitably to exempt Commission earned in Foreign Exchange by Indian Agents / intermediaries of Overseas Suppliers of Goods from Service Tax, that is applicable from 1-10-2014. - Service Tax on such Service has been clarified as exempt many time times in the past by the Dept, by virtue of the nature of business and the merits. As late as Sept 014, th CESTAT has upheld the validity of our case.

DYES AND CHEMICAL SECTOR ALWAYS VEIWED AS POLLUTING SECTOR,BUT EVEN THOUGH IT IS VERY IMPORTANT SECTOR THAT IS NET EXPORTER AND HELPS IN BALANCE OF PAYMENT. I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST HERE THAT IF POLLUTION IS NOT RESTRICTED DUE TO NON VIABILITY , CAN GOVT NOT MANAGE IT BY DEVELOPING MANY MORE POLUTION CONTROLING OPTIONS AND CHARGE POLLUTING INDUSTRIES FOR MANAGING THE SAME ? WHAT IS REALLY HAPPENING IS RESTRICTING NON POLLUTING DYES SECTORS AND COLLECTING HUGE AMOUNT FROM POLLUTANTS AS SETTLEMENT

All kinds of plastics should be banned immediately & instead enforce to paper bags. people will be able to pay little extra cost TO KEEP THE ENVIRONMENT CLEAN.

Growth in chemical & petro-chemical industries lies in investment on innovation and new ideas. Because expanding more chemical mfg base would create other problems due to hazard elements. so only way to increase growth is to improve recycling, reprocess, conserving energy through innovative means.

my suggestion for present growth of vehicles there is tremendous generation of used lubrication oils these lubricants should go back to refineries and mixed with crude and recycled this can be enviroment friendly.

THERE IS TREMENDOUS POTENCY TO EARN REVENUE THROUGH CHEMICALS A ND PETROCHEMICALS. AS PLASTIC REPLACED MANY METAL USAGE. SO CHEMICAL SHOULD BE GIVEN FIRST PRIORITY FOR A GOVT, LIKE OURS. WE CAN EARN FOREIGN CURRENCY THROUGH THIS. FIRST ZONE TO BE DECIDED .. AS YOU KNOW, THE ENVIRONMENT ISSUE , WATER, LABOUR AND TRANSPORT IS CONNECTED TO THIS ISSUE, PLANNING IS MUST.. ZONE , PLANNING, GOVT PARTICIPA, PROVISION OF CAPITAL WITH EASY LOAN, TAX EXAMPTION AND FINALLY HELP TO MARKET AND HELP TO GROW..
