One of the key priorities of the Government is to provide a non-adversarial and a responsive tax administration with the main objective of creating an environment conducive for achieving higher investments and growth. At the same time the focus is also on ensuring ease of doing business for the taxpayers. For individual taxpayers, Government endeavours to promote voluntary compliance by making compliance easy and reducing the cost of compliance for the taxpayers. These steps are aimed to ultimately result in buoyant revenue collections, reflecting higher growth, leading to higher standard of living and better quality of life for the citizens.

The Department of Revenue invites taxpayers and general public to provide innovative ideas and suggestions on tax policy and administrative issues with the objective of ease of doing business and reducing compliance cost for industries thereby facilitating buoyancy of revenue and increase in investment leading to higher growth.

Finance Advisory, We have HRA as option under tax benefits and most of those who reside in other parts of city are benefited from this. But what about the owners who are only benefited by Interest and Principal amount which keeps reducing. Those who live in Apartments pay more than Rent as Maintenance. Could you provide a option to include a part or fixed amount under section Rebate U/s 24 Loss from house property. Can fix a minimum amount as this amount would increase in the coming times.

To ease compliance, at least for individuals, remove all exemptions (via different 80C, 80CCD, 80IA, LTC, HRA, Medical etc) and give overall exemption of say 25 lacs, and have progressive tax rates from there on. Say 10-25:10%, 25-50: 20%, 50-100 Lacs:30%, 1-5 Cr: 40%, Above 5 Cr: 50%. Make it compulsory to file tax returns even if no tax is payable, simplest form online/ or though any bank/post office/ATM etc. Make forms in regional languages as well.

There are many complications faced by persons who file there IT....It should be made more simpler.. also people are unaware that they can call a TRP who will help him/her in filing IT(at a nominal fee of max. Rs.250)... If more awareness is created regarding TRP's then I guess government can generate substantial tax revenue

At present, interest on tax due, income tax, is on 3 tier method. For transparency and simple way, adopt 1 tier, without any if's and but's. Remove all surcharges on all taxes. Adopt uniform tax rate for all products, in State level and Central level. This tax policy encourages foreign investors.
