Dindigul City is located in the central part of Tamil Nadu famous for its traditional lock manufacturing and tannery industry. The City has been shortlisted by Ministry of Urban Development as one of the 100 smart cities in India. The City covers an area of 14.01 sq.km and divided into 48 wards with the population of 2,07,225. In this regard, Dindigul City Municipal Corporation (DMC) has undertaken various activities in preparation of smart city proposal. As part of this, DMC has organized multiple citizen engagement activities, events and programs across the city. A wide range of online and offline techniques were adopted to reach citizens ensuing wider participation from citizens; Face to Face, print and social media including Facebook, Twitter, GMC’s website, MyGov, whatsapp and Door to Door survey for preparing the smart city proposal for Dindigul City. On the basis responses and key stakeholder consultations, the options for ‘Area Based Development’ proposal and ‘Pan City ‘solutions were identified.

The view of citizens in identification of projects to be considered and incorporated in the Draft Smart City Proposal, before to finalize the proposal and submitted to MoUD, all citizens of the city are invited to give their feedback on the proposal framed. Dear MODI sir, A survey of the leading economies of Asia, revealed Indian bureaucracy to be not only the least efficient out of all South East Asians & also that working with India's civil servants was a "slow & painful" process.Officials are stealing state property.In all cities & villages throughout India, consisting of municipal & other government officials, elected politicians, judicial officers, real estate developers & law enforcement officials, acquire, develop & sell land in illegal ways

Dear Sir, I am P A cariappa, I am very happy that " DINDIGUL CITY" is becoming " Smart" but there are certain promises to be met. 1)Education Sector. 2)Employment Sector. 3)Electricity Sector. 4)Road and Transportation Sector. 5)Public Administration. 6)Rain water harvesting. 7)Climate Change.
