In the last few months, Ranchi Municipal Corporation has interacted with the citizens through various online & offline modes to apprise them about the Smart City Mission and the Competitive process for selection in first 20 cities.

Citizen feedback obtained through different modes is analysed and a draft proposal is prepared. It includes the Vision and goals for Ranchi, Greenfield development and Pan-city solutions proposed for the city.

A snapshot of the proposal is attached as a PDF and we invite comments, suggestions and observations from the citizens to further improve the proposal. This will help us in refining the proposal and making it more competitive.

The last date of submission is 11th December, 2015.

@pramod_98. The plan derived from the citizen consultation. The citizen has voted for the proposed vision of the city. It has plan basis of the suggestion and feedbacks received from the citizen. Keeping an area marked only for the residential or commercial purpose never fufill the vision which citizen has provided. You can check the proposal of other cities as well.

Ranchi Smart city project will act as lighthouse for the rest of the city. Hope it is replicated in the rest of the city as well.

It looks like the proposal have all the buzzwords without meaning anything! It is a typical management consultant product. There is no sense of how things tie into one another. The land use plan is quite random and non-mixed use. The share of residential use is quite low. To be honest, it would be really difficult to give any concrete suggestion on this. It would be quite unfortunate if this plan is selected purely due to political reasons.

Greenfield development is the best possible option for area based development in Ranchi. The identified land under HEC area is best place to be proposed. It is located in heart of the city. The vision of developing a Smart city as a 'Knowledge Hub'is one of the positive steps towards the employment generation. This will not only controls the getaway of youths but also their exploitation in metro cities. I hope our city would be selected in the 1st round. Thumbs up to RMC team #SmartRanchi
