The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

I think it's the lack of education, that's the root cause of half of the problems in the society..... Not just the lack of education but proper education... A mother plays a vital role in a child's life hence i think education of a woman or a girl child is very important... she just doesn't educates her own family but the family too that she'll be a part of in future... a man would educate his children academically but it's the woman who educates her children morally, which is important..

Urban development minister Venkaiah Naidu should make it mandatory that no society should be given clearance with a functional rain harvester. It has been observed that rain harvester are made by societies and individuals only to get NOC from Town and country planning but these harvesters are not functional. There should be such mechanism while giving NOC that no one is able to violate rules on the ground.

I believe the social construct of discrimination can be removed and reversed only when "value" is seen in a person. In this case, the value of a girl child is seen in the context of a burden (financially, socially), a sex object, and so no so forth. If we could identify 3- 4 key ideas (e.g., education) and start to incentivize those (e.g., why don't we provide vouchers to girls from disadvantaged families to go to "good schools)? Then, can we connect these girls and families to work opportunites

My uncle(mausa Ji) got brain haemorrhage attack 2 days back.he was in a private job with no insurance or job security. He survived but doctors say that he will never be able to work. He has 2 daughters one in class xii and other in class x. Elder daughter will be going to college now and other in class xi. Now he has zero income and zero saving. Is there any govt scheme which can help them generate income for their livelihood and study of children?

I think as every subject are taught in the school from toddlers, the childrens must also be taught to respect each other, specially boys. There must be workshop for all parents regarding this. The rape and molestation can be controlled if started from the root level. The punishments must be very strict and every kid and all other person must know about this. Self defence must be part of studies.

Sir, Law should punish with exemplary punishment for guilty parents/ relatives/ doctors involved in sex determination & / termination/ murder etc. Any action against women/girls short of verbal abuse should be treated with criminal procedure codes. Provide incentives to all girl families ie 2 or more girl child today such families are in single digit %age. 50% charges in all facility/ Income tax/rail/ school fees will save girls. Provide more and make India girl friendly country from what is now
