The girl child today faces inequality and gender based discriminations even before birth. The nation cannot move forward unless women are given opportunity to realize their full potential and contribute to nation building.

Given this context, please share your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and feedback on how we can change the discriminatory social construct in order to celebrate the girl child. What should be our communication strategy for improving the situation and reach out to people?

suggestion 2-To initiate feeling of proud on having daughters – Give opportunity to daughters to prove their caliber to occupy the posts of responsibility. For all competitions Government /public /private sector jobs , there should not be entrance fee for girls or be nominal as per UPSC charges . In many states entrance fee for competitive exams is in thousands , parents avoid to allow their daughters to appear in too costly competitions & daughters deprived of oppurtunity.

To give concrete shape to this slogan --suggestion no 1-Make policy to give minimum 15 % interest (Monthly income scheme ) on “ Istridhan deposited by parents / in laws / relatives at the time of marriage in the name of their brides / daughters. It will stop extravagant marriage culture. Daughters can manage their breads from their interest income and will not become burden on their parents. --continue-- Gaytri women welfare & protection society (Rgd)

IT IS REALLY DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THE FACT THAT EVEN AFTER SPREAD OF EDUCATION,OUR SOCIETY IS NOT FULLY ADOPTED THIS NOBLE IDEA OF NOT DISCRIMINATING BETWEEN A GIRL CHILD AND A BOY.MORE PAINFUL IS THE FACT THAT EVEN OUR CIVILIZED SOCIETY IS ALSO NOT VERY SERIOUS TO ERADICATE THIS EVIL..UNLESS AND UNTIL OUR SOCIAL SCENARIO CHANGES WE WILL HAVE TO JUST WAIT FOR THE GOOD DAYS TO COME IN OUR SOCIETY.

ladhka -ladhki ek hi gadhi ke do pahiye jaise h. ek ke bina dusra akele nahi lekar chal skta h.to phir ye baat hi kaise uthti hai ki girls are special or important? it is for both male and female. both are equally important for the living. so step ahead keeping this in mind. hum beti isiliye bachayenge kyuki unke bina hume maa, behan.patni aur beti nahi milegi? isliye nahi ki unka bhi pura haq hai jine ka?

DAUGHTERS ARE VERY IMPORTANT IN OUR LIFE. WITHOUT DAUGHTERS WE CAN NOT GET SISTERS, WIFE, SON, BROTHERS AND SO ON... I THINK THERE IS NO LIFE WITHOUT DAUGHTERS.ALTHOUGH WE THINK THAT NORTHERN INDIA IS VERY PROSPEROUS BUT IT IS IRONY THAT POPULATION RATIO OF THIS SEX IN THIS PART OF OUR COUNTRY IS VERY LOW AS COMPARER TO NATIONAL RATIO. EVEN AS ON DATE IN THIS PART WE ARE KILLING DAUGHTERS. I WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THAT THERE IS ALWAYS GREED OF SON IN THE MINDS OF WOMEN I.E ENEMIES OF DAUGHTERS.
