To mark Father's Day and salute the unsung heroes that Fathers are, the Ministry of Women and Child Development is conducting a story-telling contest: #ThankYouPapa. Fathers can contribute a great deal in creating a gender-neutral society by the way they treat their daughters and be the torch-bearers of our Government's 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' movement. Tell us how your father stood up for your right to education, opportunity and choices, and how he broke gender stereotypes to raise you as an equal. We aim to establish how Fathers enable their daughters to live as an equal in society and encourage their sons to follow suit.

Last date of submission is 18th July, 2017

I would be happy to share my proud father. As he never discouraged for doing anything, he just encouraged to do anything as we like he behind of us to do anything. He just opened the doors and created the space to choose right or wrong. I am enclosing a small story in my life what happened as i was born as third daughter in my family. Thank you Nanna for everything in my life.

सच ही कहा है किसी ने, पापा से बेहतर बेटी को कोई समज नहीं सकता , एक बेटी पर अपने पापा के साथ होने से बड़ा और कोई अहेसान हो नहीं सकता।

I lost my husband in 2010 when my daughter was just 3 years young. I thought his last rites should be done as lovingly as possible. i thought nobody but me could be able to do justice to this. My father stood by me in this choice and challenge that i took. He told people i am as strong and stable as any man to perform the last rites of my husband. i completed the last rites of my husband with all the love that i had and then went back home to my child. i could do this only because of my father.
