In accordance with the vision of Prime Minister to build the nation from the villages, the Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) aims to converge all programmes of Government and combine the same with the MPLAD funds in order to create model villages.
Under this, a few villages will be identified in each District for provision of all basic services and amenities such as – drinking water, sanitation, solid/liquid waste management, housing, connectivity, internal roads and street lighting, on a saturation approach. All these villages will also be open defecation free and will be models of good governance.
Department of Rural Development, with aim to get peoples’ participation for suggesting a suitable Logo for SAGY, invites entries in MyGov portal.
The last date of submission is 30th September, 2014
The winning entry will be awarded a cash prize of Rs.25,000/-

Planting trees in and around those villages, rain water harvesting system and installing solar panels for self-sufficient power demand should also be included in this programme.

sagy logo the logo in between signifies pure drinking water + leaves = sanitation, and community toilets = ODF (Open Defecation Free ) and interconneting roads signify better connectivity and transportation
