A big step towards improving environmental conditions is to restrict use of plastic. 1. Ban plastic bags in hill stations and wildlife sanctuaries and areas around them 2. Make plastic bags chargeable in cities. It should be made illegal for shops and other commercial establishments to provide bags for free. Instead, there should be a minimum charge of at least Rs. 10 per plastic bag. This will ensure that people reuse, if not abandon plastic bags.
