Citizens of Aligarh are being humbly requested to go through the various contours of the development plans under Smart City proposal. The proposal broadly consists of retrofitting of Achal Sarovar and surrounding areas as well as various pan city initiatives. These initiatives cover internet connectivity, Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS) and solid waste management.

The interested citizens are expected to give suggestions regrading the improvement of work-ability of the proposal. Improving work-ability includes the various agreement, MoUs and other processes which enable us to be better placed in terms of readiness for the implementation at the field level as soon as the government shows the green signal.

The suggestions invited hereby should not be very generalised and these should also not be of the nature which basically alter the various initiatives.

Relevant suggestions regarding improvement of work-ability are being invited humbly here.

There must b a proper proven of planting more trees, all around the city and especially, in the outer regions, where industries are growing. Pollution Certification of vehicles must be incorporated. A check on household waste management is the need of the hour, as currently, a major portion of the waste is not managed. Polythene use must be completely banned.

Aligarh is an ancient city. It has many historical sites such as Jama Masjid,Achal Tal,Ghanta ghar etc. It is loosing its origin. In my opinion few projects must be under taken to conserve such sites. In this regards Nagar Nigam Aligarh has made heritage cell in which eminent scholars, Historian and personality will be contacted to give their suggestions/advice to preserve it's origin so that it can become a tourist centre.

The achal sarovar region chosen for area based development is very inhomogeneous in character. One broad strategy for this area will not work and the financial plan for it will not be workable.

For a smart city, the air must also be clean and use of renewable resources must be preferred over non-renewable resources.
