The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

1.pigs in davanagere should be taken out, 2.proper waste management 3.smart Sanitation facilities 4.Smart agricultural practices 5.good power supply 6.boards and location marking on main roads and areas 7.more parks and renovating old parks,green city 8.more cotton mills as the city is called manchester of karanataka and more industries in city outskirts 9.good transportation facilities 10. spaceous improved parking lots 11.proper water supply

It's good to know that DVG going to be smart city. But how smart are the people to manage the city once its done. Are we educated or have the culture to manage what is provided. It's not just having good infra, but question is how we mange it and how public supports equally in managing it. It's painful to say in our country many of don't even keep our surrounding environment clean. Many such cases. So wake up India.

Being a citizen of davanagere,i would like to request there is poor waste management system. Comparatively pigs population is more in davanagere. And employment opportunities are very less, Underground facilities must be improved, street lights are required everywhere, cctv cameras are required in each and every areas so that there will high security, wifi is required.
