The city of Davanagere is located at a distance of about 260 km from the state capital of Bangalore. It is nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats. Previously known for its cotton mills, it is a fast developing city of Karnataka. The arid town was once a thriving textile center. This place is also called as 'Manchester of Karnataka' or textile capital of South India.

Davanagere City Municpal Council came into existence on 7th Aug, 1951. Later it is upgraded as Davanagere City Corporation on 6th Jan, 2007. Presently it has jurisdiction over an area of 68.63 Sq. Kms with over 1.5 lakh properties. Davanagere City Corporation is situated at the P B Road, opposite to City Railway Station, Davanagere.

For its governance, the Davanagere City Corporation is divided into 41 wards, each represented by a Corporator. The Corporators elect the Mayor, who is the administrator of the City and serves office for a term of one year. The administration of the Corporation is vested in the Commissioner, who is designated by the State Government.

Proper supply of Electricity, Providing proper Education System, making good roads and footpaths, flyover transport system, proper agriculture and irrigation facilities.

1.more plantation,no cutting of trees!make it green city 2.rules and regulations must be strictly followed by all. 3.proper maintenance of facilities provided.

1.improvement in roads. 2.solarpower available all over the city. 3.garbage to be converted and used as gobar gas and to be supplied all over the city instead of cylinders

1.first thing is we need all electrical cable should go under the ground 2.we want develop the job opportunities in davanagere by developing the industries like software and hardware. 3.please dont cut the trees, make it has GREEN CITY. 4.provide 24*7 power supply and purified water. 5.regulate the traffic rules all people must be follow the rules. 6.create wider footpath in all roads before that we need dust free road.
