Recently, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the webinar on effective implementation of the Union Budget provisions in the defence sector. During his address, the Prime Minister said that the webinar was of great significance as it focused on the important issue of making the country’s defence sector self-reliant.

The Prime Minister said that the defence corridors that are being built in the country today would also help local entrepreneurs and local manufacturing. That is, today, self-sufficiency in our defence sector has to be seen as the empowerment of these two fronts – “Jawan as well as Youth”.

The key announcements in the Union Budget related to Defence Sector are as follows and we seek ideas and suggestions from the public and other stakeholders on the same:
• Budgeted expenditure for capital outlay in defence increased by approx. 19%, highest in 15 years
• Disinvestment aimed in the sector to increase opportunities for private players
• Reduction in customs duty rates to nil for import of parts by public sector units (under Ministry of Defence) for manufacturing of aircrafts and parts

Sir, most of the CSD canteens r now days harrassing old veterans in the guise of some documents to be endorsed or processing of old canteen smart cards with new ones which r taking place inordinate delaying and in the intermittent intervals we r issued with two bottles liquor and half grocery at the mercy of canteen jco/manager. sometimes asked to return back with empty hands which is very much hurting to our sentiments as we r from far off places and visiting canteen means loss off a day to us

1. Digital and encrypted tracing of not only all defence equipments but all fire arms used by license holders in general. Assessing threats and real time responsive mechanism at borders should be permanent features of training through digital and thought process intervention. Offensive and defensive stretegy and equipping with latest technology and practices should be continuous features of out recruitment initiatives.

Sir, high up corruption in defence must be stopped and exemplary punishment must be awarded. during UPA govt era the Tetra vehicle procurements have made one General a junior minister, and the allegation and counter allegation by General kapur and General penag for supplying of eggs less than 45gms and others items also were very humiliating as civilians were gossiping very badly about it. now the army recruitment scams r also seen very bad angel as our uprightness was a point of discussion.tks

Defence depends on equipment and morale of the soldiers. Morale depends on physical fitness and absence of worry for family. Provide modern newly built spacious houses for soldiers and families in times of togetherness and also when separated because of field duty. Houses should be secure, near all amenities including schools and colleges. Arrange well paying respectful jobs nearby for wives willing to work. If soldier has no worry about his dependents he will perform most.

I t is a good decision to allow private investment in defense sector. It would not only enhance our military capacity but would give other people a chance to do something for defense

In Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Naadu army’s presence is required to keep motivating youth to join army , & also build national pride. These states are cut off from any visibility of army & opportunities it offers compared to northern states. Hence youth join pfi etc to wear uniform. Boots on the ground in every district & convoys will direct them in right direction . Army can jungle train in western ghats & in beach. And camp in small districts , not in cities only.

soldiers to my mind are illpaid from very beginning, some of them are facing unjustice in the very society for which they are ready to die. Some times members of soldiers family are not getting proper medical services..children are not getting proper education.. are soldiers standing on the borders to have these ??! sir do offer fair life to the families of soldier's..
