Recently, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the webinar on effective implementation of the Union Budget provisions in the defence sector. During his address, the Prime Minister said that the webinar was of great significance as it focused on the important issue of making the country’s defence sector self-reliant.

The Prime Minister said that the defence corridors that are being built in the country today would also help local entrepreneurs and local manufacturing. That is, today, self-sufficiency in our defence sector has to be seen as the empowerment of these two fronts – “Jawan as well as Youth”.

The key announcements in the Union Budget related to Defence Sector are as follows and we seek ideas and suggestions from the public and other stakeholders on the same:
• Budgeted expenditure for capital outlay in defence increased by approx. 19%, highest in 15 years
• Disinvestment aimed in the sector to increase opportunities for private players
• Reduction in customs duty rates to nil for import of parts by public sector units (under Ministry of Defence) for manufacturing of aircrafts and parts

Namaste Ji. Select ten or more Electrical & Mechanical Engineers from each State. Give them three months of training on the most commonly used Military Equipment & Materials. Help them to Manufacture those items in India under Make In India. In this way, let the factories that Manufacture Military goods rise in every state. I believe that a lot of people can get jobs as well as huge financial gains for our Nation. Jai Hind.

The ratio of population and military should be more . Comparing with other neighbouring hostile countries, our nation's Army(Ratio with the total nation's population) should be more. Then we can feel more strong and secure in crisis situtaions. Welfare schemes should be increased for the martyr's and post death

More Sainik schools, Military schools and Institutions like Medical colleges, training centres should be established to strengthen the forces.Every year Recruitment at all district level centres should be conducted. Rural unemployed are very much interested to join Army but due to lack of awareness , information and publicity from Official side it is not attracting many. Hence Military, ParaMilitary, Armed forces, NCC, CISF etc should be multiplied according to the ratio of our nations security.
