Dear Citizens and Stakeholders

Our city “Warangal” ranks 1st on the listed 23 cities selected for FAST TRACK round under Smart City Mission.At present, GWMC is in the process of preparing the revised Smart City Proposal. Therefore your valuable suggestions are solicited to revise the Smart City Proposal of Warangal for fast track submission to Government of India (GoI).

You are requested to go through Warangal Smart City Proposal in detail along with the observations of the expert panel, the links of which have been provided underneath and submit your valuable suggestions here within 18/03/2016.

You can also send your suggestions online to the email id: smartcitywarangal@gmail.com or submit written copies to Commissioner, Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, Warangal.

All houses need to be installed with solar panels. More focus should give on renewable energy Hanmakonda Junction is facing huge traffic problem. Designated parking areas need to be developed near the area.

Vacant spaces need to be optimally utilized, either by the provision of green areas or in the form of parking facilities where ever possible, so as to relive the traffic on the roads, by virtually increasing road RoWs.. Also separate hawker zones can be specified, so as to remove encroachments while preventing the livelihood of hawkers.. Projects can be floated so as to build city's economic base, both in long term and short term..

Some environment monitoring systems can be installed in the city, to get real time information on various aspects like air and water quality etc..

Since residents are the primary users of the city, some program should be launched under the smart city mission to make people smarter by spreading more awareness about the various facilities provided by the govt. to the people and also the cost incurred on the components, so that people atleast know the value that how much is being spent, and also a sense of ownership should be inculcated among the citizens..

Smart Mobility should be spread to the whole city rather than restricting it to the National highway only.. As an example junction monitoring can be done for city wide.. which shall help in reducing crime rates and prevent traffic violations..

Solar Power can be used for a variety of things, rather than restricting to only Institutional & Public buildings, Street lights can be made solar.. In Public spaces like parks & lake front solar roofs can be installed for providing shade to people..

The areas chosen for ADB is truly represent the City of Warangal. These areas includes heritage areas, commercial areas, residential areas, slum areas, educational institutes etc. The projects developed under this can be replicated easily in other places
