Once we are able to stop getting more waste into river, solution will fall in place on how to remove existing waste from river Also please ban using plastic bottles and polythene bags in our country , or we have to make sure they are at least disposed without harming environment

When coming to religious rituals, first thing I would like to say is that point below is just my thought about how it could be handled , not to hurt anyone feelings .I believe problem starts when half burnt bodies are pushed into the river. Govt can create few more Electric cremation sites on the river beds and orders should be placed that only ashes can be dissolved in Ganges and bodies can’t be pushed into the river.

Cost to be collected in some units from those industries for maintenance and usage of those plants. This will make them aware of water wastage due to their industries. Once industrial waste is prevented it solves most of the problem. For city’s regular sewage mixing into Ganga, has to be treated in same way as industrial waste, but govt should plan accordingly what to do with treated sewage out of treatment plant.

These are just my thoughts adding to comments of other members Construction of water treatment plants for treating industrial sewage water .Sending the treated water back to usage for same industries which need water for their production. This will even reduce use of ground water by industries and prevent nearby locations from water scarcity .No of plants and its locations should be well planned by Govt based on population of industries

Ganga can never get cleaned. In support of this statement, I would pose only one question, answering which, you will get the result of the Namami Gange Mission. Tell me one thing, will you stop the people to perform their religious rituals, be it the Ganga snan, Ganga Aarti, or the letting a dipam and some flow into the water for wishes and many more. Before cleaning Ganga, just provide some drinkable water to the people of a village near HIndon. The are consuming heavy metals with water.

#Tourism Tourism is the best way to provide employment to the people. Tourism provides employment to the most variety of professions and skills; unlike industries which provide opportunity to only one type of skills. Tourism provide opportunities to cooks, hoteliers, transporter, tax to government, laundry, construction, guides etc. It is tragic that India with such great heritage is allowing monuments and rich history to get destroyed. Tourism should have been one industry we had to develop.

Ganga is like our mother, nearly 1/3rd of Indian people's livelyhoods depend on Ganges.Clean Ganga is not only the a river cleaning,it also cleans the obstacles to create new oppertunities for the residents through increasing tourism, waterways for transport & clean water for agriculture & drinking water. For this adequet waste treatement plants need to be installed which will clean the polluted industrial discharges before deposing towads river bed.Mass awareness also required.

Let us identify one acre of land near ganga ghats in all important cities and ensure that all the industrial waste and unwanted things which we are finding near ganga ghats should be deposited in this area.By ensuring that remian ghats will be free from waste.

Sir, Our civilisation has come up near bank of our national rivers. River are mostly polluted in the urban area and their water is not fit for drinking purposes. Thousands can live without love and money but one cannot live without potable water. It is our utmost duty to make river free from pollution by preventive/treatment measures at the earlieist.
