The objective of the Group is to brainstorm and invite considered views of all stakeholders in Chemicals & Petrochemical sector that include polymers, plastics, synthetic rubber basic Chemicals, pesticide, dyes etc. The sector is touching the lives of each and every member of the society. This sector has tremendous potential of growth vis a vis the contribution of this sector in the world economy, especially in the manufacturing sector in developed countries. The sector also offers employment opportunities for a large population.

As the sector is already liberalized, which has also resulted in a rapid increase in imports, there is a need to review this situation and to promote domestic manufacturing by attracting large investments and providing facilitative policy regime. At the same time, sustainability and environment friendliness of the industries in this sector also has to be ensured as an initiative as part of ‘MAKE IN INDIA’ campaign of the new government.

Comments and views are invited from the stakeholder at large.

Growth of chemicals and petrochemicals is welcome but with a rider; research on environmental effects should be included as mandatory to prevent deleterious actions on biological systems including humans.

DPCO was implemented around one & a half year back, it was an excellent step towards making medicines affordable but unfortunately I find some lacunaes which need to be corrected at the earliest because most of the people feel cheated. For example the recent launch of overran ink. 1ml by Novartis will cost around 20 rupees whereas voveran 3ml Will cost around Rs5. Both contain 75 mg Diclofenac and there are hundreds of examples like that. My request to GOI & concerned ministry is to look into it

Import duty on Bulk Polymers should not be increased. Indegenious production is in only few hands, and they make take advantage of costly imports to raise local prices. This will make polymers costlier. Polymers or plastics is the material which is going to make life of common man easier. Please make it affordable. Plastics is the material which will contribute the maximum in development and progress of the nation.

Respected sir, In india everywhere highway road making work is going on and toll gate also becoming more and more so people are facing lots of trouble of traffic so we should make automatic toll gates like had in gulf countries. Every vehicle have sim card when it pass from toll gate amt cut from its card . Benefits 1 - save time 2 - avoid traffic 3 - save fuel 4 - get location of each and every vehicle it's help to crime department. 5 - avoid stolen car and easy to find. No space mor
