The education system in the 21st century must promote innovation while revamping the traditional educational system. The need for quality improvement in the curriculum and the desire to equip students with 21st century competencies has brought innovation at the core of the educational ecosystem. Hence, school culture that support innovation should be developed and encouraged extensively. The National Education Policy 2020 has a big focus on innovation as a tool for revamping the educational system.

In view of this, CBSE along with the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell has developed guidelines for schools for promotion of Innovation and Entrepreneurial skills in students, titled ‘National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Promotion Policy (NIEPP)’. The policy guides school education systems on various measures that may be adopted to promote a learning environment where creativity, ideation, innovation, problem solving and entrepreneurship skills of students are nurtured, irrespective of their age.

Most of the youth in the country have made their objective as attaining a job, but there should be a proper understanding about Innovation, Ideation, Problem solving both in terms of Theory and Practical from the school age itself, as that is the age when their mind gets tuned. This is a wonderful move by the Government to introduce syllabus on entrepreneurship in schools.

To promote NIEPPin our schools, first of all we should change the mind set of parents and guardian. They are still in nineteenth century. They know that education means to get a govt job. There needs a wide publicity of NIEPP through mass media . A teacher and school administration can't change mind set of people.

In our society , each and every parent start to feed their child , that he will become an engineer or doctor or IAS etc etc . But rarely any parent talk about that their child will be an entrepreneur in future. Then how we may think that our child would like to become an entrepreneur ? The seeds are always sown at very early stage of life at every step of it , means at home and at school. So most important is both ng but environment and which is responsibility of all of us.
