GUWAHATI IS THE HUB OF N.E.INDIA& IT IS ONE OF THE FASTEST DEVELOPING CITIES IN INDIA-*BUT GUWAHATI NEEDS A MORE LARGE SCALE DEVELOPMENT & PLANNING- *NORTHEAST EAST IS MOSTLY NEGLECTED TILL SOME TIME BACK& STILL LOT OF DEVELOPMENT NEEDS TO HAPPEN IN N.E.INDIA - *GUWAHATI SHOULD BE DEVELOPED not just into any SMART CITY *GUWAHATI SHOULD BE MADE A GLOBAL CITY/HUB OF SOUTH EAST ASIA

The efforts for preparing smart city proposal shall be genuine only when the citizens concerns are addressed. More over, whether the city is selected in the first phase is not as eimportant as recognising the real issues and solutions from the citizen's side. Hopefully this exercise really shall ensure the popular participation.

The initiative taken by GMC and Govt of Assam to make Guwahati a smart city are worth appreciating. Citizens are being motivated through print media and ward wise survey to get suggestions from each corner of Guwahati. We all should take part in making our ancient city ' Prag Jyotishpur' a smart city of India and also of the world. All students, academicians, technocrats , businessman , NOGO's , Private people, general public and every part of society should participate for this Nobel cause.

The city planners should look into creating biogas from the wastes created by the city as this would not only create fertilizers for the nearby farms it would also create biogas which could be sold to the poor in a subsidized price and help the state raise funds People who specialize in this field (https://www.clarke-energy.com/biogas/biodegradblewaste/ and http://www.renergon.ch/en/#&panel1-1) overview on the subject http://www.waste-management-world.com/articles/print/volume-11/issue-4/
