One of the biggest charms of Indian tourism is its architecture and wealth of historic monuments. And there’s a long list of heritage monuments that are still sitting in squalid environments. An effective solution for this would be to outsource the maintenance and exterior lighting of the heritage monument to corporate giants in return for some branding opportunity at the monument. Many think this is outright commercialisation. But this is a much better option than leaving it an abandoned state

Puja items are not the only polluters of Yamuna. The main culprits are the sewage treatment plants which are mostly non-functional. Hundreds of crores have been wasted for cleaning the river without any visible results only bcoz of these defunct sewage plants. The entire river front must be inspected physically and identify the maim polluters and replace them with the latest plants whose life should be at least for 50 years.

If govt takes little headache to respect the tradition, ritual, puja item in river can be well managed by fixing wire mesh in specific area to stop the garbage to flow of items into the main river. Fining for puja items is just disrespecting country's own tradition, culture! now a days, it has become a fashion, go against hindu culture, u r secular and will be praised!

Most of the puja items are thrown into river Yamuna during big festivals like Durga Puja, Chat puja and many other religious activities. The best solution is to specify ertain particular Ghats where idols can be immersed and flowers etc are thrown. The entire area can be wire meshed to stop the garbage to flow of items into the main river. Later on these floating objects can be collected and disposed off. After some time it will remain in the rule book.
