Set up international toll free numbers for any tourists wishing to visit India. They can be 1800 nos in the US, and similar nos across other countries. This call centre can act as a one stop shop for all enquiries - visa, tour planning, hotel and cab booking etc. The core service can be operated by a contractor, who can transfer to the respective agencies. The task of the call centre operator will be to guide as well as upsell.

Just like 108, a standard nationwide tourist call centre number can be created. E.g. 999. If a tourist dials this number, they can avail a variety of services. E.g, operator can sms them the list of attractions, cab and hotel nos, etc. This can also be a panic number for tourists to call if they are in trouble. The back end could be operated by companies such as justdial on contract basis

Trains such as Shatabdi have TVs. Playing videos about the approaching town's main attractions will educate the travellers about what to see. At the end of the video, a five digit number can be provided, to which the tourist can sms and get a list of attractions as well as useful contact numbers via automated sms response.

Many hill stations have poor access due to winding roads and slow, long train rides. In Europe, many other technologies are available for faster, safer ascent to hilltops - funiculars, cable cars etc. Often these are built and co-owned by resorts on PPP basis. These can also be used to connect undeveloped hills and develop new hill stations. Exploring these concepts will make our hill stations more accessible and convenient and also result in new hills being developed.

Most hotels in India have a channel that showcases the hotel's features. If Dept of Tourism produces standard films that also showcase the tourist attractions of each town, hotels could be offered the film to play on this channel, along with their own film. This will educate visitors and encourage them to visit more tourist spots as well.

For tourist convinience and safety students of the Hospitality sector and Tourism Administration should be given a chance in "Tourism Police". This could help Police department to have better cooperation and division of labour. Matter related to the tourists can be handeled by the Tourism Police and also training of the locales can be undertaken by them.

If "Incredible India" means developed India then let us learn n take help from other developed countries too to make India more shining. Recently came across one picture which I thought will be helpful in our Bullet Train project. Wish to see such great structures in India too!
