आने वाले १५ अगस्त को हम अपनी आजादी की वर्षगांठ मनाने जा रहे हैं। इसके लिए सभी देशवासियों को शुभकामनाएं। आजादी क्या एक शब्द मात्र है? आज भी यदि कोई गुलामी को अनुभव कर जी रहा है तो इससे बड़ी दुर्दशा नहीं हो सकती है। आज भी लोग शिक्षा से वंचित हैं। अपने बच्चे को अव्वल दर्जे की शिक्षा देने में लोग असमर्थ हैं। पहले लोग जमींदारों की गुलामी करते थे आज ठेकेदारों की गुलामी करते हैं। कल भी कानून आम लोगों के लिए नहीं था आज भी नहीं है। हम विकसित बनने का सपना देख रहे हैं परंतु गरीबी और अमीरी के फासले को पाटें बिना असम्भव। इच्छा और उम्मीद के सहारे ही आज भारत में लोग जी रहे हैं। जिस दिन लोगों को उम्मीद समाप्त होता नजर आयेगा उस दिन देश में परिवर्तन भी नजर आयेगा। ऐसी बात बिल्कुल भी नहीं है कि देश में आधी आबादी गरीब है। परन्तु वोट के लिए सभी को गरीब मानना गरीबों के साथ बेईमानी है। गरीब भी मुफ्त में सरकार से कुछ पाना नहीं चाहता है। मुफ्त में तो कामचोर रोटी तोड़ते हैं परन्तु गरीबों का हक तो उनके हाथों में दीजिए। सरकार के द्वारा लिया गया बस एक कदम गरीबी को समाप्त कर सकती हैं। जिससे देश संवर सकता है।
