In the next financial year, the free food distribution scheme should be ended and instead food subsidy of Rs 5-10 per kg of rice and wheat should be introduced. This is because too much funds are being spent on this programme and in West Bengal the TMC has rebranded the scheme and is taking credit for the work. There is also corruption in the ration shops and the ration system, due to which the intended beneficiaries are not getting the benefits of the scheme.

I wish to bring to his notice an important event likely to take place in the end of January 2022.Dr.U.Ve Swaminatha Iyer was known as Mahamahopadhyaya. His extensive research on ancient Tamil Literature brought to light the Sangam Classics like Silappadhikaram, Jeevaka Chintamani, etc. Parimel Azhagar's commentary on Thirukkural was also spotted by him. By his hard work, the palm leaf scripts appeared in print form between 1890 & 2000. He was a friend of Mahatma Gandhi. There is a U.Ve Sa library in Adyar Recently, the library found manuscripts of U. Ve Sa. Containing commentaries on Kamba Ramayanam. The library proposes to bring out these commentaries in print form in ten volumes in the end of January 2022. This is a collaborative venture and a matter of great significance for the Tamil Literary world. It will be a matter of great pride if the Hon. PM can mention this fact of publication in the next Mann Ki Baat
