The Rourkela city lirequires to ensure basic infrastructure services to enable a decent quality of life in urban pockets and a clean and sustainable environment and adoption of smart solutions and providing more public spaces to poor. It may be implemented through areas based approach consisting of retrofitting, re-development, pan city initiatives.
There is also need of hours to develop and adopt a model code for development of new cities Pan India for continuous pace of Smart Development.

Greenfield area can be entirely new area. Kalinga Vihar/Chhend/BPUT/Padhanpalli area would be proper if new bridge connects to other side river Koel i.e. to NH 23. proposed Ring rd from Jhirpani bridge to Panposh is also required. Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha has already laid Fdn Stone about 2 years ago.This is already

Though it is rightly said that Rourkela is the educational hub of odisha,unfortunately the quality of education is fast deteriorating .Inflow of Seasoned teaching professionals to the educational institutions need to be ensured/Model educational institutions are to be opened in order to have SMART FUTURE of Rourkelaites.

Southern Rourkela, i.e. Sec-22, Balijodi,IDL, Sonaparbat etc should not be ignored. Area can be area for green field development.

SMART DEPTT should start their own FM channel which through out the day keep on informing citizens about their progress of complaints and informing citizens about traffic movements through out the city and other important announcements for the city.
