The availability of reliable quality and affordable electricity helps in the rapid agriculture, industrial and overall economic development of a State/U.T. In its endeavour to develop Chandigarh as a Smart City, the Chandigarh Administration is committed to improve the quality of life of its residents by providing access to electricity round the clock i.e. 24x7 to all the Villages, Colonies and Sectors of U.T., Chandigarh.

The methodology to bring reforms in the distribution of power supply has to be developed in consultation with various stakeholders of the city. The Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration is responsible for supply of electricity in U.T., Chandigarh. as chandigarh is surrounded by three states punjab, himachal and haryana and it is a UT itself. So, we need some conventional methods for reform power supply in Chandigarh. Govt. should have to place the solar panels over the buildings roof and thus we can form the conventional energy and this type of energy reduces the power cut and also help in the reform of the power supply in Chandiagrh. As solar energy is a costly but convinent method of power for houses and also may to colonies.

Sir, In india second largest public transport i.e, RTC- Road transport corporation. For parking slots in Bus station Govt is initiating tenders. In same way give tenders for rooftop of bus station to fix solar panels. That energy can be utilize by bus stations and it is more money saving because the lights, fans and television will be run continously at these stations. Also the cleanliness of roofs should maintain by vendors ( who won the tender). "Clean energy"

In respect to reform of power supply,I suggest that, Power generation to generate the appropriate power according to the requirement at various places should be analysed and arranged to collet the enough energy. further, after getting enough power, the need of various catagory should be provided the power as per development and home consumption,e.i. agriculture, industry, service, infra, home etc. various catagories should be distributed as per necessities for current and future needs.

UT may consider bringing change in construction practice for use of BIPV(Built in photovoltaic) solar cells. Houses/apartments, high rising residential building, temporary buildings etc BIPVs can be used in windows, sun shades etc which will take care of light load of the building.Presently it is used in Japan and Germany.

If LED lamps r used in all purposes start from central gov.to state & street lights lots of electric energy can be saved. We r spenting lots of money for electric-generating,transmission & then on pollution destroying nature also but not serious about energy saving. According to me if 100 % LED is implemented India will be surplus of electric energy. Solar plants for domesting use is about 5 laccs for 3 Kw cost very high. In Uttar Pradesh street lights r used of 1000 to 1500 watts
