There is a need to improve access to child health services. The Ministry of Health is focusing on promoting child health through appropriate interventions. Presently, the Department of School Education and Literacy, MHRD addresses the nutritional needs of school going children in the age group of 6-14 years through the Mid- Day Meal (MDM) Scheme. The Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) under WCD also addresses the issues of child health. There is, however, a need to synergize the multi-sectoral interventions taken by the relevant GOI Ministries. The existing schemes need to be examined for their outcomes and impediments in implementation, including those of coordination. This theme seeks views and suggestions on how to ensure greater focus on child through improvements in existing schemes and suggest new holistic interventions.

Cluster of Colleges must be encouraged to form model industries - Government must provide funds for research which are done in their place or in faithful places - 15 years experienced Lecturer or Assistant Professor must be promoted as Associate Professor by the government itself - Because in the Private Engineering colleges most of the Assistant Professors are treated as slaves to do their personal works by Professors or Doctorates. - This should be avoided. Because teacher loves self respect

The parent nominee in the school committee should be changed monthly. Those who make any mistakes or reluctant to report mistakes in any stage should be punished without delay. Awareness programs about this will be conducted at all schools at certain intervals.

Sir, specialization is the call of the day, especially in higher education. However, management education is clubbed with engineering education in number of professional colleges. I feel, for proper development of management education, the two fields should be segregated. Moreover, five years of industry experience should be made mandatory to join as faculty in these academic institutions. Now-a-days we are compromising quality in favor of quantity in education. This should be reversed. Thanks

Sir, a healthy mind and a healthy body work synchronously. Mid-day meals, regular mobile clinic visits, regular immunisations - including those that are area specific - meningitis / encephalitis, improved availability of potable water & well maintained rest rooms in all schools will encourage the cause of education. Private bio-sciences companies & CSR initiatives can be co-opted into this program.

If we want to focus on Child health, we have to educate the parents about MALNUTRITION & Balanced diet through the Schools. Though MIDDAY-MEAL children are not getting nutritious food due to various reasons. Moreover the Child attends School not more than 200 days in year. Hence the role of Parents, particularly Mother is more important than anybody. Even the rich families are not able to provide balanced diet.Hence proper menu should be prepared region-wise with the help of dieticians & others
