There is a need to improve access to child health services. The Ministry of Health is focusing on promoting child health through appropriate interventions. Presently, the Department of School Education and Literacy, MHRD addresses the nutritional needs of school going children in the age group of 6-14 years through the Mid- Day Meal (MDM) Scheme. The Integrated Child Development Scheme (ICDS) under WCD also addresses the issues of child health. There is, however, a need to synergize the multi-sectoral interventions taken by the relevant GOI Ministries. The existing schemes need to be examined for their outcomes and impediments in implementation, including those of coordination. This theme seeks views and suggestions on how to ensure greater focus on child through improvements in existing schemes and suggest new holistic interventions.

Dear Sir Mr. PM, for making India a real Swachh place, I think the govt. should make a study of the places, in the order of most filthy, less filthy and non-filthy. For this, all the Municipal Corporations and Gram Panchayats should be asked to prepare the list in their respective areas. And, focus should be to clean the most filthy ones first. One example of such areas is Motor Markets. I am sure if this approach is followed, we will get the desired results more speedily than expected.

It can be best tackled if we introduce a regular course on sanitation and how to live a healthy lifestyle. In Indian schools, we dont have proper playgrounds or even gyms for highlighting the need of regular exercise.and beyond all the style of food distribution at mid-day meals should be revised to atleast a buffet system because the traditional way of eating while sitting makes the plate prone to dusts and flies, either due to movement or wind risking them for a bad stomach. and have firstaid
