ECR is naturally scenic & most beautiful area in Chennai. Both ECR & OMR are new areas, development will involve less breakage & less land acquisition hence development cost will be less.
An exclusive cycle track running along ECR upto Mambalipuram can be developed to be further extended to Puducherry.

OMR is newly developed area and IT hub will need top most priority in terms of bridge and drain system. During rainy season, water gets logged and has no drainage system. Due to IT HUB! LOT OF international visitors have to travel in this OMR stretch and Sholinganallur connectivity to ECR is another important area where bridge is required to avoid traffic bottleneck.

This is a great initiative and step in the right direction. We need to work on planning early so as to take care of the growth which is going to happen. My opinion is that Sholingnallur would be better choice as there is new infrastructure and we can plan to make it better and develop it in coming years. Sholingnallur have lot of IT companies which will need more houses, schools and commercial complex in future. Lets make Chennai Smart !!

Planting of more than maximum number of trees and greenery are critically important to any city/smart city. Chennai city's climate was not it is till the year 2000, because of maximum felling of trees without planting of at-least 10 trees for every single felled tree. Next important aspect is bi-cycle track through out city/smart city as a form of transportation. People are now yearning for bi-cycle tracks, if provided they will immediately minimize the use of their big vehicles.

An integrated public transport system is needed Skybus metro would be a best option as normal metro s are costly. Also we must make sure that autos and govt buses do not emit any smoke, as in Chennai most of these vehicles emit a lot of smoke and are a major contributor to pollution.construction of skyscrapers should be permitted as we chennaites would be extremely proud to see a burj khalifa kind of a building here

SunEdison US based company won the international bid for solar power supply in Andhra pradesh with a tariff of 4.63 rupees per kilowatt. So Tamil Nadu government can use its good office to join hands with SunEdison for another 100000 MW power supply with very cheap power tariff of 3 ruppes per kiolwatt.
