Use Vinyl product as a raisin. Use salt bags to make ineffective petroleum fire (Class B). Use technology (fire sensor - LM 32 etc) to detect and prevent from major burn.

With the sheer volume of people on Indian trains it would be impossible to ban the public from carrying the inflammable stuff. Over years, I know that Railways have worked to improve safety, but as someone else suggested, railways could shift to using less flammable items, perhaps convert bogies to moving Solar cells thereby helping eliminate some other battery requirements and treat every coach like an office and fix the over head sprinklers

instead of using mika, ragazine and other inflamable material the railways must shift to material which is less prone or inflamable, if a pipe is connected from one end toilet to the other toilet from the roof area with nozzels in it which can be used during emergency in defusing such fires,a bogie carrying fire extingusihing gas can also be attached with all trains and from this bogie the pipe can be connected so that it can be used during such times even a tanker bogie can also be attached

I live in ranchi jharkhand. and its obvious that the state is suffering from maoists attacks , i often think that why dont we try to transform maoists to an army soldier. today there are more than 2 lakh recognised millitants all over the country but if we can sought out their problems and try to convert them as nation's strength rather to take them as weakness then surely this step will contribute our army as we will get well trained soldiers beforehand and can use them for fruitful purposes.
